Katie Holmes' Latest Beauty Venture

KATIE HOLMES has been named co-owner and spokesperson of US hair company Alterna, just months after she made her first venture into the beauty industry as the first celebrity face of cosmetics line Bobbi Brown.

Holmes will also feature in a print advertising campaign for the brand, which relies upon eco-friendly ingredients and boasts high-profile fans such as Jennifer Aniston, Kate Bosworth and Julia Roberts.

"I love that Alterna uses natural and organic ingredients and stays away from harsh chemicals like sulphates and parabens," Holmes said of the range, which features two key collections: bamboo and caviar anti-ageing. "It's good for my hair and good for the earth, so I feel good using it… when it comes to hair, great style should be sustainable. Using the right products means you don't have work as hard to look and feel your best."

Alterna Professional Haircare is available in selected salons nationwide.

Nicole Kidman Admits That She Had Botox

NICOLE KIDMAN has admitted to using Botox in the past, but says that her face is "completely natural" now that she has embraced a more holistic approach to her skin.

"No surgery for me; I did try Botox, unfortunately, but I got out of it and now I can finally move my face again," she said, describing her decision to have the wrinkle-smoothing injections as an "unfortunate move".

"I don't smoke and I take care of myself, and I am proud to say that," she told Italian newspaper La Repubblica. "Anybody can do anything to themselves - I don't judge - but personally I believe in being physically fit. That's how I was raised."
